The first step in defeating the english was the colonists revolutionary ideas. Ideas that it was their right not to pay the taxes the English imposed them. One of the most important documents that included all these revloutionary ideas was known as the Declaration of independence. The tensions caused by these ideas resulted in a war betwen the colonies and England. This war was known as the Revolutionary War.
